Articles about this were swirling around a few days earlier but since nothing was confirmed I wasn’t too sure about posting it but decided to go ahead. Keep your fingers crossed for Sam!!

Warner Bros. has found its Lancelot for the planned King Arthur movie Arthur & Lancelot. The Killing star Joel Kinnaman has won the role and is in negotiations to star for director David Dobkin, who also wrote the script.

The role of Arthur has yet to be cast, and sources say Kinnaman will now do chemistry reads with several of Hollywood’s up-and-coming leading men. As THR first revealed, the casting process for the two leads has included such hot actors as Kit Harington (HBO’s Game of Thrones), Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), Hans Matheson (Sherlock Holmes), and Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe) in the UK and Ben Walker and Liam Hemsworth in the U.S.

FemaleFirst Interview

Sam Claflin made the lead from TV, where he has enjoyed success with United, Pillars of the Earth and Any Human Heart, to the big budget blockbuster as he starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

The movie was a massive box office success as it went on to gross over $1billion worldwide – not bad for your first movie.

For the release of the film on DVD & Blu-Ray I caught up with the actor to talk about his experience on the movie and what lies ahead.

- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has just been released on DVD so for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet can you tell me a little bit about the movie?

I suppose it’s just about Jack Sparrow and Blackbeard’s quest for The Fountain of Youth – there are three different teams on the same quest; Jack Sparrow is leading Blackbeard’s group, the English naval office of Barbosa and there is the Spanish fleet. So it’s a race for eternal youth.

- You take on the character of Philip in the movie so what was it about the character and the script that made you want to take on the project?

I think that it said Pirates of the Caribbean in the title and I was such a big fan of the pervious three films so having the chance to be a part of it was dream come true – let alone getting to kiss a mermaid and having a scene with Penelope Cruz.

So I was very lucky and I am very thankful to the people who made it all happen. It’s a dream part really because he is an honourable and righteous man – he is a goody.
